Every year, same story, same shit. I get no work during the summer and I miss out on all the fun stuff that money can buy. I seemed to be cursed, destined to be unemployed, even though I KNOW I'm up for the jobs I apply for. When it all comes down to it it's all about connections. Sad but true.
Just the other day I actually got called to an interview. I thought "hey, maybe I'll get a job this year". Well, guess what? They called the next day, said that they had to cancel the interview because the customer (they were a recruitment firm) had "changed his mind". I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case, though. I'm sure someone's son or daughter got the job instead. Fucking nepotistic.
I made a mighty fine "rare cheesecake" today. I was supposed to make a baked cheesecake, but I found an interesting recipe and decided to try that out instead. I'll try to make a baked one later on, though. Here's the recipe:
12 "Digestive" type crackers 75g Butter 3 eggs 125g vanilla extract OR 75g of sugar 3dl whipped cream 200g Philadelphia cheese(or any other "cream" type cheese)
1. First of all you should prepare the "dough". Put the crackers in a plastic bag and crush the hell out of them until you have only crumbs left. Then melt the butter and mix it with the cracker crumbs. DONE. Now press the "dough" onto the bottom and sides of a springform pan.
2. Secondly, separate the eggs' yolks and mix them with the vanilla extract/sugar until you get a fluffy mass. Put the mass aside for a while since you're going to be needing it later.
3. Whip the egg whites and cream in SEPARATE bowls, then mix the cream with the mass you created earlier (see "2."). When you've finished mixing in the cream mix the egg whites in to complete the cheesecake's filling.
4. Pour the filling you made in "3." into the springform pan and onto the dough. Voila! It's almost done. Now you only need to put that shit into the freezer for about 5 hours and get ready to taste a piece of heaven. Don't overeat though, it's pretty rich.
COOL TI: If you don't want the cream to frost while freezing it, put something on top to cover it up. The best thing to do is to use about 6 more digestive crackers and 40g of butter and make some more dough to use as the cover. Mighty effective and mighty tasty!!!
Walpurgis dreams (written under the influence of alcohol)
So, I had the weirdest dream right now. I don't remember the first half of it, but I can remember bits and pieces from the end.
I remember seeing this really cool house that had like 5 stories, only they were seperated and upheld by the stairs that connected them. It was quite the sight actually, and I'm deeply considering trying to paint it.
Anyways, so I decide to enter this house, which seems to be owned by this asian woman. I'm not sure why, but for some reason this woman doesn't try to stop me as I barge into her home. Strange, but again, this was a dream.
So, I was determined to get to the fifth floor. Said and done, I try to climb the stairs. The weird part is that I don't remember actually CLIMBING the stairs, just that I start climbing in one instant and then, in the next instant, I'm at the top, enetering a new room. This happened with all the staircases.
The first set leads me up into a roomy room. There seemed to be some plants there, but I can't remember it clearly. Amazed by the architecture of this beautiful building, I decide to move further on into the building and up the next staircase.
The second staircase led me up into a small room, again with some vegetation. Other than the plants, the room didn't seem to have any other purpose than to serve as a connector to the next floor as I saw the next staircase immediately as I entered the room. I climbed the next stairs.
The third floor seemed to be the main living area, seeing as this place was huge. This floor in it self had many stories and there were smaller staircases here and there.
I found myself talking to the woman's daughter (she seems to have two daughters, one child and one teenager). I don't remember the actual conversation, but she led me to the toilet and showed me some weird spinning massage machine. She seemed to be laughing when she talked about it, like the machine itself wasn't very effective and they never used it. I believed her. Strangely enough, the toilet connected to the next floor. I started climbing the next staircase...
...and found myself on the fouth floor, which was on a roof. I could see the fifth staircase further away, but it was unclear where I needed to go to get there. I started looking around. I can't remember clearly what happened on the rooftop, but I remember this portion of the dream being at least as long as the first portion of the dream. There was some climbing going on and I can vaguely remember seeing statues made of wood, depicting chinese dragons.
There seemed to be a lot going on the rooftop and there was even a weird merry-go-round and clowns walking around. I asked somebody (he seemed fatherly, but probably wasn't the previous child's dad) about the merry-go-round: "wow, you even have a merry-go-round", but I don't remember the actual answer.
After climbing some more, the dream seemed to change a bit and there was some drama and interaction with other people. I don't remember what happened, but I vaguely remember it beeing interesting. I eventually got back on track, though, and tried to find a way to get to the next floor.
On the way there, though, I found myself getting distracted by one of the attractions of this floor. There was a tall clown fooling around with what could only be described as a big pool of rainbow colored fluff. He dove into the fluff and it disappeared where he landed, leaving a mark. Underneath the fluff there seemed to be an ordinary pool of water.
As the clown was bathing in the water, the fluff quickly regenerated and returned to it's original form, covering the clown. No worries though, folks. The clown was OK, and he could climb out of the fluff pool with ease, again leaving a mark that mysteriously regenerated.
Dumb as I was I had to go and try it out. I dove into the fluff. It disappeared and left a mark, as last time, but when it regenerated I found myself stuck in the fluff, unable to move...
...and then I woke up, leaving me unable to ever see what was on the fifth floor. >__<
